1. What cookies are

Cookies and similar technologies store or access information on your device, including local storage and browser identifiers.

2. Categories we use

  • Strictly necessary: login, authentication, security, account sessions, checkout, and fraud prevention.
  • Preference/functionality: settings such as theme and cookie consent choices where enabled.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics 4 and first-party in-app insights. GA4 loads only after you accept analytics cookies.
  • Performance/reliability: technical logging and backend tracing where configured.
  • Fonts and icons: ExamAlly self-hosts web fonts and icon assets from the same origin. They do not send requests to Google Fonts.

3. Consent

Non-essential cookies and analytics technologies are used only where you have given consent through our cookie banner or preference centre. You can reject non-essential cookies and change preferences later via Cookie preferences in the footer.

4. Managing cookies

Use the cookie banner, Cookie preferences, or your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent sign-in or core features.

5. Cookie and storage names

  • _ga and _ga_* — Google Analytics identifiers (only when you accept analytics cookies).
  • examally_cookie_consent — first-party cookie storing your cookie preference.
  • examally.cookie-consent.v1 — browser local storage used as a fallback for cookie preferences.
  • Firebase authentication session cookies — strictly necessary for sign-in and account security.

We may update this policy and will publish a new version with an updated effective date.
